2011 Empty Plate Campaign Success!

A Special Thank You to the Greater Richmond Community for helping us reach our goal of raising $50,000 during our
2011 Empty Plate Campaign!   This annual campaign promotes awareness of critical needs of older adults, caregivers, and persons with disabilities and provides donors with the opportunity to help.

A highlight of the Campaign was our 8th Annual Empty Plate Luncheon where we honor local individuals and organizations for their advocacy and service to seniors.

Your Donation Makes a Tremendous Difference:

$15,000 helped us provide 3,394 meals to seniors through our Friendship Cafés and Home Delivered Meals Program.

$13,000 assisted seniors in need of emergency services and critical needs such as food and fuel support as well as much needed transportation to medical appointments and other activities.

$12,500 went to support active community engagement for seniors through Foster Grandparents, The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and The Senior Community Service Employment Program.

$5,000 helped support The Senior Center - offering adults age 50 and older a variety of activities and services designed to help them maintain independence and remain physically and emotionally healthy.
